Guidelines for the Revision of Fall Arrest Equipment Standards
You can use safety belts based on the old standards until January 1, 2022! Information about new standards and compliant products.
In February 2019, the enforcement order of the Labor Safety and Health Act was revised, changing the name of the safety belt, which had been used for many years in high-altitude work, to "fall arrest equipment." Both the "full harness type (single hook)" and the "body belt type (single hook)" are recognized as fall arrest equipment. The U-shaped body belt that was included in the conventional safety belt is now classified as a work positioning device. However, if the height of the working platform is 6.75 meters or lower and there is a risk of reaching the ground in the event of a fall, the use of the body belt type is also permitted.
